hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone has ever had wheel rub after lowering there trucks. most of the people i've talked to had not but for some reason i'm getting a real bad wheel clearance problem after i lowered mine. about 4 months ago i did a complete front suspension rebuild from bushings to shocks and even reindexing torsion bars. could i have insatalled something backwards or on the opposite side that would cause the tire to rub. everthing seemed to only go on one way but prior to the rebuild when i first lowered the truck i had no problems. i had also istalled a new steering center link, new tie rod ends and ball joints. could any of these be my culprit. possibly from improper instillation.thanks in advance

they rub on both side ... it's the outer edge of the tire hitting about midway of the wheel well when i turn hard....more so on the drivers side then the passenger side... i usually ride without a passenger so i'm guessing thats cuz my weight putting the driverside a tad bit lower than the passenger side...

forgot to put down they rub hard enough to make the wheel well pop in and out when it rubs... i don't know exactly how much i dropped it but lets say my cross member is about 5 inches or so from the ground

it sounds like yours do the same thing mine do.... i had to raise mine up just a tad bit... i also beat the inside of the fenders to make a little more clearance

i think i'll removed the inner liners...i might drop it lower...i'm running the ST model rims and will be getting smaller tires.... i'm goin to start drifting this truck as soon as i drop the rear some more and weld my rear... i'd post pics but i'd rather wait till its at least painted before i start putting them up. got alot of body work to do. and i'm in search of an 80-81 model bed (the one with the single layer and bed hooks)
