Tire choise question

I wonder what will happen If I install 32" tires instead of stock ones. Got R50, 2 inch lift.
I've heard that it would affect transmision in a very unhealthy way. Is it true?
What disadvantages will I get with 32 tires? or will I be fine? any suggestions about this?

Fueler and Alex could answer better than I re: R50. Almost every vehicle I have owned I have gone wider and usually taller on tires. Went from a 29.5" tall tire on my Explorer to a 31", 32" & now 33x12.50x15 tall tire. Shift points somewhat seem different, mpg and acceleration went down obviously but no probs with trans to date. Ran 32's for many years before switching to 33's. One dealer had told me that running 31's would destroy my trans due to "computer geared for smaller tires". 6 months after owning vehicle I went to a 31x11.50. All I can tell you for sure is your mpg, acceleration, and speedo will be off. I cannot see it destroying your trans... I also cant see how taller tires would do more damage to a Pathfinder over an Explorer. My Ex is now 15 years old. Trans feels the same as the day I bought it.
