I was wondering what's a good tire choice for some wheels that are 18x8 and 18x9. They came with tires but are below OEM load rating, I think they're 91. The sizes that are on them now are 225/40/18, and 235/40/18

Quite a few theads and a sticky in Infiniti General.

Search is your friend. The ones by Q45tech are seminal.

I'm normally not a fan of Brian's "use the search button" answers. I think it discourages conversation. However, in this case, I have to agree with him.

Here is the problem. There is no correct answer...if you look you will find that there are literally hundreds of threads with people discussing proper tire/wheel fit combinations on the Y33. The answers you receive will range from convservative to extreme and will be largely based on opinion.

There is a "wheels and tires" forum where this stuff is discussed at length frequently. And, I know if you do a search for Y33 fitment in the Infiniti and Q45 forums you will find some other good information.

Do some searching and let us know what you decide.

Well, skip Q45tech because wheel well gap is something he has never mentioned.

However if you are interested in dynamic performance, then by all means do read his tire posts first.

If it is just static appearances and spaces that are your primary concern, might as well use cardboard and save a ton of money.
