Been rim shopping and was just wondering, 17x7 tire with +35 offset with 225/45/17 tires, am i going to have to be worried about any rubbing anywhere? And will these have a nasty buldge to the tire or should i go with the 215/45's.

Welcome to Nico! You shouldnt have any problems. A 225 will fit on the rim, but the sidewalls may point slightly outwards. Then again, it all depends on the manufacturer. Im getting some wheels in soon, 16x7 up front, 16x8 in back. The tire that is coming on the front is actually only a 205, which I think Im gonna like, because it is not only lighter, but because of the stretched nature of such a fitment, Less sidewall flex ocurrs, and handling is crisper. The bulge shouldnt be that ugly with 225, but I would reccomend the 215. So what kind of wheels are you planning on getting? If you want to run a wider tire, just try and find some wider rims, with lower offet

you may have some problems with rubbing with a 225 on the front of a S13, I would opt for a 215. I had some rubbing issues with a 225 on a 17x7 when I was 4 lug.

Well thank you for the welcome, its good to be here,215's sound good, i am getting 17x7 wheels all around. the Exel Race gunmetal or bronze, on my gray hatch, not sure on color. i kno wi should have 9" wide rears, but this isnt a race car. Its a daily driven car that i just wanna have fun with on the want backrounds plus it doesnt fit my budget to get the 5zigen FN01R-C's. As for tire choise i think i am going to get Dunlop Sp Sport tires, havnt made up my mind on that. Thanks both you guys for the info

Oh for the love of god get something better than Dunlops. Their wet-traction sucks, and if it rains where you live on a regular basis (like me) you'll find out really quick how sucky they are. Go on TireRack.com and check out their ratings to get a tire with the best hydroplaning resistance and wet grip. The 240sx is a light car, so with bad tires your'e risking an accident. (that's how many accidents reported on the board are caused--bad tires+rain)

BTW welcome to the board

Falken Ziex ZE-512s are great all-season tires. Dunno if they make them in the size you need though.

Acutually I liked my last pair of dunlop Direzzas. I don't think they make them in a 215/45-17 though.

Dunlop sport fm901 are my favortie tires to run. Toyo proxes fz-4 are decent all season, ive ran some michelin pilot all seasons that were ok i guess, It doesnt rain here very often tho.
