The offset should be marked on the wheel, along with the width, etc.

Here's a tire/wheel fitment thread:

zerothread?id=223195

Workable offsets vary quite a bit, but you know these wheel/tire combos fit. Be sure to note that some are using spacers, which is not recommended without understanding their limitations.

You're welcome, but heheh, I'm just the Librarian. I remember these threads and know how to find them with Search.

Notice, Romeo has 20s. Also notice no one on that thread is running anything wider than 245s and 255s.

Oh no! More numbers.

The 245 and 255, do these translate to low profile tires as well?

Any profile, yes - width is width.

As long as the thread Title is so specific, I'll include these old threads for future searchers:

zerothread?id=224826

zerothread?id=221062

zerothread?id=219861

zerothread?id=199756

zerothread?id=181480

zerothread?id=171623

It looks like 9 inch and 275s are the limit without dealing with fender rolling.

Happy reading!

Need to clarify. There's one more factor - your tire and wheel total 26 inches in diameter. You have to stay close to that or it will drive your TCS and SLIP crazy, not to mention the speedo error.

Here's a calculator for diameter and profile (java applet):

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

OEM size is 215/65x15.

So, only certain profiles will be correct. 275/30x20 for instance are 26.5 inches tall. 255/30x20 are 26 inches exactly. Tires in a 25 profile 20 inch tire would require 305s for the right diameter. 35 profile will only fit in a skinny 215.

Check Tirerack for available tires in the size and profile (and load rating - at LEAST 95) you're thinking of.
