So im a newb when it comes to overfenders and wheel offsets so i need a little help. i searched for a bit but there is so much information its hard to sort through what i really need to know. heres the deal i got a cheap set of 5zigen fn01r-c for my 89 hatch, rear 17x10 +12 and the front 17+9 +15 offset. what i really want to know is what size fenders, if any are needed at all, am i gonna need to fit the rims under it. also what size tires should i get, i want them to be slightly stretched but not too much. thanks in advance!

im running 19 by 10 on the rear 0 offset and i need about 15 mm to get the right clearance .. your plus 12 so that puts you at about 27 mm so a 30mm over quarter should cover you .. as far as the front im running an 18 by 8 0 offset and i have plent of room if your plus 15 on a 9 inch rim id say you still wont need much if anything at all .. just for refrence your tire size will make this vary a lil also .. im running a 225 front and a 265 rear ..

ELEMENT692121 is correct for the rear.

For the front, it depends on what tire you choose. Here are some pictures of a 215/40 on a 17x9 +20 on the front (from the SPL parts website).

Looks like it should be fine with a +15 and the same tire size.

you dont need overfenders for that size. Just roll your stock fenders flat.

False information...... his +12 will sit IN 12mm more than yours. So like Adrian said, a flat rolled fender and a stretched tire should be nice and snug.

Oops. Didn't read ELEMENT692121's post carefully enough.

But I still think those rears are too wide for stock fenders. In the SPL pictures, the wheels are pretty much flush with the fenders. So for the 17x9 +20 wheels on those cars, the outer edge of the wheel is 94.3mm from the hub.

(9/2)*25.4 - 20 = 94.3mm

For the 17x10 +12 you want to run, the outer edge of the wheel will be 115mm from the hub.

(10/2)*25.4 - 12 = 115mm

So the 17x10 +12 would be 20.7mm further out than a 17x9 +20. I guess it could work with a fender pull and negative camber, but I'm not sure.

Won't be a problem if you're willing the pull the rear fenders a decent amount.
