Hi all,

First time poster here, I was hoping for a bit of help.

I bought tires from a giant national wholesale chain (you know the one). They installed them incorrectly, I got the correct staggered set, but on the driver's side, the put the rear tire on the front, and the front tire on the rear.

I drove the car for about 8 months on this before it was noticed. They swapped the tires to their correct position (no charge) and returned the car.

Now my traction control keeps going off (I get the red "!" followed by "SLIP"/"VDC OFF"). I went in to set the record straight and they went on the defense, they have me scheduled to come in for the specialist, but I might to be armed for a fight.

I know little about tires, can anyone provide any advice on why the two could be related, and/or what damage would be caused by putting the tires on wrong?

It could be you have low brake fluid (not related.).
Mine did this.
There won't be any brake fluid leaking, what happens is as the brake pads wear, the system will need just a bit more fluid to apply the brakes.
This can be just enough to trigger the warning light you are seeing. It will often happen when accelerating.
Add a bit of brake fluid, and see if it goes away.
