So here's the magic question, all four of you are doing 120 and you hear sirens, do you stop?

Umm...not really. If I'm going that fast and have room to continue, I'm gone. High speed chase or not (I've been in one of those already - when I was 16 - got arrested at gunpoint but I was in the country on back roads ahahah - on the highway I am GONE).

That being said...I don't think a cop would pull out. Reason why I say that is because I once passed a NYS trooper at 137 and he didn't budge (was in the weeds). I even slowed down to like 110 (if you call that slowing down lol) immediately and started to move over (which is why I now say I would probably just continue going if I had the room to do so) and he still didn't move...so I went over the crest and dropped down to 78 and then eventually took the exit. Just in case he came out and tried to play catch up. lol.

Yes, I know. I have a heavy foot. lol. I'm also Ukrainian born...even though I've lived here most of my life...I think I got the heart of a German who wants the Autobahn lol.

Agreed. The way I see it, they'll take my car if I pull over or if they catch me, so ill take my chances and grab the first exit that I'm out of their sight lol. Only way ill stop is if I'm by myself or doing less than 95 (arbitrary number).

Funny you said how they didn't move, I flew past two troopers 40 min apart on my way back from Canada and they didn't budge. They had lasers, it was too late, I just kept my foot flat. I think it was a combination of the speed and night. If I was doing 90 I think they would have come after me.

as some one who has traveled across the US twice by my self, one piece of advice i can make to you (OP) take brakes often just to stretch...i drove across the US form NY to Oregon in my 1987 Mazda RX-7 (non-turbo)..it was a blast i have never seen so many nice places in the country! and it is amazing how nice people are too!! especially in the mid west...also if i had the money before setting out on my trip i would have bought a radar detector then i would have known about the Nevada Highway Patrol that got me just out side of Winnemucca, NV...although i had a good experience with that particular officer...we chatted o about speeding for almost a half hour...lol...i was doing 105 in a 75, but he only wrote me for 10 over....how ever on my return trip from Oregon, 17 miles from my destination, i was nabbed by the fine folks with the NYS troopers office (insert sarcasm here), for doing 90 in a 65...cop asked why i was driving so fast on HIS road and i simply said i had been driving for 3 days and just wanted to get to my destination, he was not as nice as the officer in NV...so i took the ticket flipped him off and went on my way...if i had a radar detector i would have spotted him a long way off and probably would have saved my self some cash...anyway my advice is to keep alert and take rests as often as your time line will allow! also another word of advice is to always be kind to the police, it may not work all the time but you never know when you will need them!!

as for speeding and not stopping, i also have cracked by a trooper on the nys thruway doing deep into the triple digits and thought maybe i should just pull over and wait, but i was to close to my destination and decided it was not worth the time to wait for the trooper to get to me...lol...also if you plan on speeding a lot and travel the same routes over and over look for alternate routes to change it up a bit and if you know you were doing some triple digit speed you should take the alternate route home!!

I honestly think after a while, you develop a sense for where cops like to sit and you learn their patterns without even realizing it. Regardless, the times I have been stopped...I always get away with it easy. I think the things I do make them feel more comfortable and they go easier on me.

If I see a cop clearly got me doing something and he's going the other way, I'll pull over and wait.

I'll turn the car off, lower all the windows, get my paperwork ready, etc.

I've been stopped many times and I honestly can't say I've gotten in too much trouble. Earlier this year I came out of an exit ramp and mashed the gas...then saw a car fast approaching behind me (no lights). I pulled over and waited. Female trooper comes up and first thing she says is, "Thank you for admitting guilt. How's your license?" We chatted, she ran my stuff, and came back with a turn signal ticket instead of an 81 in a 55. Who knows, maybe she thought I was cute.

I can't remember the last time I was pulled over for speeding, not because I am good at getting away, but I just don't do it often.. I'll do at the most 20 over the limit, but I value my license and they are harder on people with a CDL class B and above. That said, I'll still push it when I am alone but not with the wife.

I had one situation with NJ trooper.
Around 4 years ago i was driving to NJ to pick up my aero kit. On my way back, there was a group of 5 cars driving on NJ turnpike that were going over 110 mph so i joined them. We were changing the lead every couple of miles. So i got in the front of the group, after like 2 miles i take a look at the mirror and i dont see anyone from that group, i just saw NJ trooper's car behind me, so i got pulled over i was doing at that time 105 on a 65 when ive seen him. He came up to me and said what the hell u have in your car. My car was full with that aero kit. So i explained to him what it is and we talked a little and then he went back to his car and came back and just gave me warning for excessive speed. That was first time i got pulled over and didnt get even a ticket. But that was funny.

Yea man nice meeting both of you. Both of your car's are very nice. Pic's don't do justice. I'll let you know when I'll get the midpipe but for now, I'm planning on some major changes in my life so we shall see if any extra money pops up!
