tips suggestions

i will be getting a motorset in abou 2 weeks . what tips suggestion can you guys give me from your experience. what to look for... oviously compression test it. any advice is helpfull thanks.

ok there is something im not clear about. for the power steering. i have an 89 240sx. i need to get the lines from the 91-94?

yes, you need the DOHC PS lines

Check your oil pan for damage. Even if it looks fine, remove the pan and make sure you have enough clearance for the oil pick up.Also it would be a good idea to prime the oil pump thru the turbo oil line on the block and pre oil the oil filter.

unless you get it from a sponser there really isn't much you can do.take off the oil pan and check and see if the pichup mas a scraping pattern in the pan,if so knock it out a bit or do the pickup mod.other than that you can ask for a compression test wich doesn't tell you alot for a motoer that has been sitting for 6 years.and a leak down test , good luck let me know what company is going to do that on a motor that has been stiiting to a couple of years and is going to give you honest answers
