Alright guys, so I'm going to throw out a couple tips on how to get a stubborn rear wheel bearing out.. with my 90 TT, I discovered that my hub assembly had dislodged itself from the wheel bearing.. not so much that I was going to kill myself but enough that the rotor wouldn't seat properly on the hub. Anyways I ended up renting a front wheel hub puller from autozone for $23 bucks and popped the hub assembly off... what I found afterwards was horrifying.. the race was broken into a ton of metal chunks with ball bearings sitting inside the hole where the hub assembly connects to the wheel bearing. ROUGH! Anyways the wheel bearing after taking off the pivot point nut (1 1/16 nut) where ebrake springs connect wouldn't budge! WTF! My buddy and I ended up using a miscellaneous bolt that would slide into the hole that the wheel bearing was sitting in and took a punch and we punched out the wheel bearing.. Anyways the tips are this: A front wheel hub bearing puller works magic at least it did for me, buy a 1 1/16 wrench and a good sledge, seriously that nut was a PITA to break without giving the wrench a couple good solid hits with the sledge, and finally, if the wheel bearing does get stuck use a couple bolts on the front side and use a punch on the back side of those bolts to knock the bearing out.. That's my luck with getting the bearing off... also I didn't use a press because I bought the hub assembly and wheel bearing pressed in already. Thank you Z1. If anyone needs a write up I'd be glad to send a link.
