tips on installing headunit/removing stocker

03 pathfinderjust bought a pioneer avh-p4000DVD, installing in a couple days when it arrives.

curious what pieces need to be removed to get stock unit out and best way to do so without cracking anything.any tips or tricks?

any help is GREATLY appreciated

They are super easy to remove. This link will take you The Install Doctor's page for pathfinders. The process is the same for the QX4.

if its the same as my 99 qx4 then theres 2 screws hidden at the bottom of the whole trim piece, then you just rip taht out and 4 screws around the head unit and u all set

im installing a doubleDIN unit, anything special for that?this will by my first time installing one of them

ok, the instructions on that page dont pertain to 03 pathfinder, the two lower screws it mentions arent there etc

any other help???

I think it's the same as my 01.

1. Pry out the Air Vents.2. Disconnect power cable to clock.3. Remove the 2 screws on the trim right below the vents.4. Pull out the trim piece a little and disconnect climate control, hazard lights, cig lighter and ashtray light connectors and you should be good to remove the whole trim piece.

thanks brolooks like we have similar headunits, double din pioneer dvd unitany more pics of your audio setup?I looked on your thread, but would like pics of your dash etc

i'll mess with it tomorrow and see if i can easily pop those vents out etc, I think it'll be here tomorrow

ive got a double din pioneer....regular style not screen. It was extremely easy to install. the brackets mounted on the stock deck bolt directly to the pioneer and fit PERFECTLY and theres a trim piece for around it, really easy install thanks to pioneer

I know my 01 Qx4 has an "irregular" shape Bose unit in it. I read elsewhere online about people modifying single-din kits to work, so I'm about to attempt the same. I'm not sure if the Pathys are the same or not...
