Yeah drop the steering column that helps a lot. If you have to, remove the two bolts at the bottom of the steering column. They are above the brake pedal if that makes senseReaperBJJ wrote:Go slow and don't be forceful when pulling it out, that's one way cracked dashes happen. I find it's easier to take mine out when I drop the steering column and remove the e-brake handle.
i did it in the coupe a few months back, i should have done the carpet at the same time, but i didn't now i have to take it back out...this should be fun.ncp2g wrote:this thread is really helpful, but its not really that hard to remove the dash once you have the motivation

Hahahah sooooo true. I lost a lot of bolts holding my dash in and it took me almost 2 hours as well the first time. Just be patient. Also to get the speedo bezel and speedo off I had to unbolt the 2 bolts holding the steering column up and push it down a bit. Also the aforementioned 3 bolts in the vents on the dash, don't overtighten them. It'll crack your dash.rico05 wrote:Just take the whole center console out first. Have fun and be patient. First time I did it, took me nearly 2 hours. I can have my dash out in under 30 minutes now. BUT, I have no HVAC, ducting, or half the bolts holding it in. I'm actually pulling mine tomorrow to repaint it.
