The Z will most likely not get much better gas mileage than your Tacoma. Most Z owners get about 20mpg.

Maintenance cost on Z's is definitely not cheap. They are 11-17 year old sports cars, so they will require upkeep. Just a 60k tune-up will run you about $400 in parts alone, and if you have to have somebody else do the work for you, the labor will be high as Z's are time-consuming to work on.

But don't let that all scare you away, Z's are wonderful cars to own. I would never trade mine for anything else.

My MPG is sparatic because I constantly change my setup, but as far as MPG they are average and good based on other cars of subsequent years.

If you want the Twin Turbo model, but it right away. Don't bother with swaps and rebuilding to TT spec, it will take long.

If you Z is high mileage without a record of service you should do 60k matinence consisting of water pump, belts, seals, etc.

Roughly to matain my Z a year I budget about 500+ but I am picky, but you could get away with 200 or so. If it looks kinda high its like an average.

hope this helps

so most Z owners get 20 mpg? is that hwy or local? im drive mostly local and sometimes enjoy driving pretty fast on the freeway. if i do purchase a z its probably going to be the non-tt and just the regular 2 seater.i currently pay 40 bucks for a full tank using 87.any other suggestions, thoughs, helpful tips, jokes?

well first of all keep in mind most z owners put in the highest octane fuel available, so thats a little more expensive already. the Z is a very fun car to drive so dont expect to get even 20 mpg if you have a heavy foot. when looking for your Z take your time dont rush into ANYTHING and i would try to look at 2 or 3 or more different z's until your sure you know your getting what you want. and if you can bring a mechanic or someone with you to check it out that would be a good idea. if i knew what i know now about z's when i was buying mine a year ago i wouldnt have gotten the one i have now, but thats a whole different story. good luck z shopping

the TT model is premium fuel only! when I got mine I cruised 90 mph 600 miles home and averaged 23 mpg, driving around the city I get between 13-17 mpg depending on how much time I spend in the boost, and N/A will of course get better gas milage, comparitively my frontier SEV6, much like your toy but with the added weight of being a 4wd, I averaged about 17 mixed city driving, and honestly about the same on the interstate cruising at 90..... I have a heavy go foot

DO NOT put anything but premium in both the N/A and TT!!! The N/A will give you decent gas milage if you stay off a heavy foot. I repeat, DO NOT put anything but premium gas in either N/A or TT!!!!!
