im thinking.... no i want to do a turbo setup... i mean cheap! looking for what junkyard parts i need to make a ghetto turbo. I read somewhere else i coulduse a volvo turbo and injectors from an rx7., and z32 maf j30 lsd? what (tat?)... i dunno.. i gots stock internals... basically a stock car. 89 240sx coupe sohc. 251,989 miles on that puppy yeh but i would greatly love your inputs guys.. and gals.. thanks for readin up.

P.S My dad is totally against it but he wants me to get a motor from the junkie first. send it to the shop. getter'done and basically a forged rebuild. he wants me to get a new turbokit. but im po. se i cant even afford the "or" i wish i was "poor".. or poor enough to gets a nice setup.

thanks bunch guys Mucho Nico LuV!!! [/B

1 if your dad wants you to do anything, have him pay for it.

2 it can be done and i DO NOT advise doing it, but you have the perfect excuse to try it on your sohc 89 engine... if it blows up you can always go find a dohc in the junkyard or shop for cheap.

3 with that many miles youre asking for something to go wrong with unreliable home-made boost. expect things to go wrong to the tune of blown rings and/or seals and burning oil to say the least. this is what happened to a friend's eclipse after he decided to do a pieced turbo.

4 if you dont know exactly what youre doing dont even bother. if you love your car, leave it slone until you can do it right.

that being said, if this is your weekend project/beater, id say go for it simply because it wont matter when you destroy your engine.

good luck!

I would not turbo a 250k engine with junkyard parts you're almost 100% to have something go wrong. I am doing a partial junkyard setup (turbo injectors and intercooler will be from the junkyard) the rest i'm doing right I figure that I can always reuse all the other stuff if I want a better setup later on.
