Tiny rust spots on steel wheels. Very dangerous. Right?

I just discovered some very small spots on the stock steel rims of my 2011 Rogue S. They're toast right? Like they could disinigrate at any minute. Right? So I'm sure that the expense of new wheels is entirely justified. Right? Should I tell my wife how totally dangerous it is to drive with steel wheels that have rust spots? I don't want to scare her, but then she might approve the purchase of new alloy wheels. But she won't do that unless she knows how dangerous the car is with the wheels it has now.

So they are really dangerous. Right?
