I've tinted my tail lights a while back using VHT Niteshades, and they were always kind of dull. So, today I went out and wet sanded them and used an orbital polisher (foam pad) with Meguiars ultimate compound and some kind of wax, and they still look dull and scratches are visible. How do I get them to really shine?

Did you clear coat first? Also what grade sand paper did you use?

I remember reading a post (forget who posted it tho) that someone spray tinited their tails with niteshade or something like that then cleared it. When they did that, the tint had a reaction that it bubbled and ran and ruined his lights. Does anyone remember reading that?

^That was me! It was the Rustoleum lens tint, and it reacted because I didnt wait long enough for the tint spray to dry. I ended up wet sanding EVERYTHING off and respraying. No clear coat, and they looked like this, mirror finish. You dont need the clear, not sure why you arent getting gloss with just the spray. Maybe its the VHT? Cant believe this is almost 3 years ago...

I had my taillights tinted with a black clear. I ended up getting a ticket for them and they were just slightly smoked. Texas laws suck.
