Bro I got bashed by a few people for tinting my headlights. I don't think you will get many positive responses for the front windshield tint.
but as far as your actual question, sorry I can't help. I don't know where they would install front tint

You can get it anywhere that does tints. I wanted to do it but just haven't gotten to it. My dad has 50% on his windshield and its not that noticeable.

i dont have any tint on my windshield, but im assuming it would prob significantly decrease nighttime visibility. i got 20% all around (minus windshield) and it def presents a problem when i make turns (i usually look for passerby before turning to make sure theres noone crossing the street)...and thats on my driver and passenger's side! i can only imagine the front...

Well I mean honestly, even something like 35% wouldn't be that bad on the windshield. I'd do like 50% just to be safe, but obviously if you don't have that great of vision than tinting the windshield wouldn't be a good idea to begin with.

A friend of mine has 50%...maybe 35% I don't remember, and its not that bad. It actually helps reduce glare. It's almost like putting on sunglasses while driving on a bright day.

I say go for it, just don't get limo lol

i have 50%'s on my front windows but not on my windshield. you can notice that it's darker than stock, so i wouldn't be surprised if you got pulled over for it.

Horrible, horrible idea.

Period.

Tinting the windshield is illegal in CA; whether it's the same where ever you might live, you'll want to double check. I believe the most that you can tint a windshield is either 5 or 6 inches from the top (as most stock windshields are pre-tinted by the factory). Even then I've found that tinting that 5 or 6 inches to anything darker then what the factory has done just looks terrible (in my opinion).

My sister had it done on her TSX and even with a black car, it was horrendous.

I've heard that it's usually ugly but here's an instance of it looking nice imo:

OP, where do you live?

I need to know where to avoid at night so I don't end up near you piloting that 2-ton missile blind.

Also, the strip across the top of the windshield is typically referred to as a sun shade (or sun strip) and not really considered tint.

Yeah, this is not the brightest idea (no pun intended). Not only is it dangerous, but you are going to spend more time pulled over and paying tickets than driving your death machine.

Several tint companies manufacture a 90 percent tint for the front windshield with high heat rejection simply to lower temperatures without visibly tinting the front windshield. I think 50 would be a horrible idea. very illegal everywhere and large fines are often associated with it

It sure would be like wearing shades on a bright day. Except the day only lasts so long, and wearing shades at night is Just silly lol. In this case pretty dangerous, not good driving blind.

It isn't as bad as people think. I would say get it if your doing it for convenience sake, NOT just because your trying to be "cool"(which is probably what most of the other members think) but like stated above, don't even get one that is noticeable because you WILL get pulled over

^ Seriously. It seems like everybody really thinks 50% tint is somehow similar to 20% or the like. I mean, people get limo tint all around there are, but nobody says otherwise typically.. and as far as I know, all the other windows in a car are just as vital to be able to see out of in comparison to the windshield.

False. Ever driven a truck/van with no rear windows? Mirrors can be used. And which direction do you drive your vehicle 99.9% of the time? Forward, correct? So which direction would be the most important to be able to see out of? You guessed it: the front!

I know it's just important, but all I'm saying is that all windows in a car are important - if you have limo tint on all your windows except the windshield, it's probably pretty difficult to navigate tight spaces when it's dark out.

If you have only 50% (or lighter) tint, it's almost just as clear as having no tint unless your eyesight isn't the best. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't give somebody s*** for having some tint on their windshield as long as it was reasonable.

Sh*t, in CA it's illegal to have ANY tint on the door windows, although you could have any percentage on the rear. If you're gonna tint them, you might as well get them as dark as you'd like - cuz regardless of how dark or light they are, if a cop wants to ticket you for tint he's gonna do it.

And I was just pointing out my disagreement with this statement. My front windows are at 15% and the rears are limo OVER the OEM tint. It is nearly impossible to see out the back. But, my back window rolls down, I'll have a backup camera once I get my stereo installed AND I have a backup sonar sensor. The side windows also roll down. Having said that, for the rare situations where it is dark and I need to navigate a tight spot (typically while parking), I have a number of fixes I can employ. And the critical situation doesn't appear instantaneously. I generally know in advance that I'm going to need to park my car. I cannot, however, anticipate with any degree of certainty when something is going to veer out in front of my car that I need to see to avoid.

Since most drivers are looking out the windshield a MAJORITY of the time, I would say that is the most critical window to have clear vision out of. And, there is no fix for tint on it (save rolling the driver's side window down and sticking your head out). And I can't imagine anyone wanting to do that 75% of the time they are driving. It's a simple cost-benefit analysis. The cost of tinting dark on the rears isn't THAT high, so the benefit of looks/security may be worthwhile to some people. The cost of tinting the windshield is very high, and the benefit is fairly minimal. It's a terrible idea.
