Hey guys. I'm debating on tinting my G. It's black and I was thinking of tinting at 35%. I've heard a lot of cops pulling people over for tinting windows though and in PA, it's pretty much illegal to have any tint on the windows at all.

Do the risks outweigh the benefits? Last thing I want is to get pulled over all the time and have to remove them just to make the car look a little better.

Yes we all know that it would look real HOT if you did tint it right now. But there is really no benefit right now as we are moving into winter. I would say wait till next spring when it begins to get hot to get them tinted. Regards, Bryan

I'd say lookup your states laws on tint....just incase you do get pulled over, you shouldn't get a ticket if your in the legal limit. Most states are 20% I believe....so like 5% (aka limo tint..is out of the question) but 35% shouldn't be too bad at all....and if you do get pulled over, just use the old excuse of......It was like this when I bought it! LOL, not much they can do unless they are just outright d!ck. Good Luck!!!

I'm surprised.... I thought all states at least allowed some mild tinting.

Here in Oregon, you are allowed 35%. Here's a pic of my black car with 35%. Purposely have some day light behind it so you can see it's not super dark.

Personally if I had any input before it was done I would have at least looked into slightly darker (even though it's technically violating the law) since I think 35% isn't dark enough for me.

Actually because you use 35% tint - it doesn;t mean that your windows are legal

Why?

Because all factory windows come with some level of tint already in them - so when you apply 35% tint - guess what - the result is less than 35% tint - in some cases the result is closer to 30 or high 20's.

My car came with 35% tint - I had my windows checked before inspection - the front 2 passed , the rear 3 failed.

Just something to keep in mind - I keep hearing people refer to 35% as legal - but that is not always the case.

Yall can try that - uh I didn't know, my car came like this stuff - but if you are in a state where you have to get your car inspected when you change ownership then.....

good Luck

Tint. It does help in winter also. The snow and sun is a dangerous duo against your eyes. I went with 35% and after I stopped at the police station to ask to test it. They told me it is fine.

I think PA only allows 70% tint which is rediculous. My buddy had 35% and got pulled over. My other friend had 20% which looked really good, but I didn't want to go too dark with this car.

I just got it tinted yesterday. I'll have to put up some pics. I went 35%. I think it was a good choice - looks classy

It looks just like Zippy's car which I think is a good shade.

If they are pulling cars in your area because of tint, I wouldn't do it. Wouldn't want to give them an excuse.

My friend owns a tint shop here in MD, so I went ahead and get 20%.. i think its illegal but its well worth it. Especially since I have black leather interior and really light blue eyes so the sun kills me.

i used to think window tint was important but now i think it's just plain unnecessary. it's hard as crap to see at night time and most of the times i drove with my windows down at night because i had 20% on my previous 3 vehicles. cops are automatically suspicious of you because they can't see what's going on inside so they might tail you longer. you can't signal other drivers in the city(well, i guess you could flash ur brights, but whatever) and girls can't see who's drivin the hot car.

it does change the looks dramatically but IMO it's more trouble than it's worth. illegal window tint tickets are also very very expensive, they cost more than the tint job itself. i was pulled over for speeding 10 over in a 25mph zone and he didn't give me a speeding ticket but sure did give me a 150 dollar tint ticket. you also have to take into consideration how much gas you waste before doing a tint job because you have to leave the car turned on with the heat full blast for 30 minutes before the job is done...ur call bro...

Well, I'm in Cali, and I got tints the 2nd day I had my car. 5% rears, and 35% front. You can see inside the front during the day, and its still a bit visible at night, unless there's no light around. I personally like tints, day or night no problem. I hate the fact that people can see everything inside, not that I have much but still, it feels like I have no personal space inside my own car.

I vote yes to tint just for the "sexy" factor.

I SAY TINT IT...AS FOR THE GUY WITH THE 1/2 HOUR HEAT WARM UP, UNLESS YOU LIVE IN ANTARTICA, THIS IS THE GREATEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD. JUST KEEP IN MIND IN ALMOST ALL STATES YOU CAN LEGALLY TINT THE REAR WINDSHIELD AND REAR WINDOWS AS DARK AS YOU LIKE, BUT AS SOON AS YOU TOUCH THE DRIVER AND PASSANGER WINDOWS ITS OVER. ANYTHING IS ILLEGAL! JUST REMEMBER DO NOT EVER USE AMMONIA PRODUCTS ON YOUR WINDOWS, UNLESS YOU LIKE THE 1994 HONDA CIVIC PURPLE LOOK..

In Arizona we can go as dark as 20% even on the side fronts, but even darker (like mine), you never get stopped.

Here's better pics
