Tomorrow at 1:30 I am getting my windows tinted and I need some help making a decision being inexperienced with tint.
The man I spoke with is charging me $160 for Suntek Carbon tint all around he said its the same price for 18% as it is for 5%
Could anyone here help me decide whether to get the 18% or 5% or if Suntek Carbon is even a good brand to use. Price cant be argued because its the least expensive in a 75 mile radius (believe me, I made enough calls).
Does anyone have pictures of either of these tints at either day or night?

Only advice I can offer is that I have 15% on the sides and 5% on the rear and it looks great from outside but I always wish I hadn't gone so dark in the rear when I'm backing up at night. I can't see a thing lol I used llumar which is a very good tint, don't have any experience with suntek! Try googling it

decided to go 18% all around suntek is carbon based and putting it on top of our already slightly tinted glass will make it seem a little darker like 12%

I have 35% on side windows, 5% on small side windows and 20% on the rear. Texas law is 35% on driver/passenger windows so that is what I did.

Florida is like 40% but ive literally never heard of cops pulling anyone over for tint. All they seem to care about here is stop signs lol. could you post a side pic with the 35?

I have 5% all around. Don't get in-trouble for it, however, I can't see s***.

For what it's worth, I worked at a local performance shop that tinted vehicles for a long time. In fact, one of my closest friends is the owner of it so let's just say I get pretty cheap labor when it comes to installing all my mods :D

Anyways....I have found that over the years doing one shade all the way around generally seems to look the best or classiest if you will. For example, the above poster did 20% all the way around (all the windows) I myself went 30% all the way around. Staying with one uniform shade generally looks the best no matter how light or dark you end up going.

Like others posted....different states have different laws as far as what you can tint and how dark it can be. However, as long as you don't go overboard most law enforcement officers have better things to do than pull you over for dark windows. It's a double edged sword though as it gives them a reason to pull you over whenever they want which gets people in trouble if you have had one too many beers etc.

Hope that helps!

Well now me and Riedel look quite similar, went with Suntek Carbon 18% Love it. Looks dark enough and I can see everything I need to at night.
Also, Riedel, are you lowered and what size are you rolling on?

One last thing, while I have youre guys' attention; in all honesty are my rims too small?
heres a picture of my newly tinted AC

Wow I had to pay $225 for all the windows on my car. 20% on sides and back and 5% on small windows. When i got pulled over for a ticket (BS) i just lowered both my windows and the cop just did a double take on the back window and ignored it ^^

Paid $150 for a pro tint at NV maximums on all windows, including sunroof. Gotta admire folks who go DIY. A lifetime of embarrassment for some who don't quite get it right and end up broadcasting that not only were they too cheap to have a pro do it, but also having to peer through a bubbly job (that I understand is a major chore to remove). Oh, the humanity. And why is often guys and gals with slammed Civic 's that still have primered aero bits hanging on with duct tape :rotfl ?

Oops, buried my lead.

For me major downside of an awesome tint job is making left hand turns at night. The view out the drivers window is severely compromised and extra diligence is a must. But man, does the car look great, and solar heating is minimized as well!

Amen!! I often roll the window down at night, not to mention I cant back up at all!!

btw I had to do the rear window three times before it looked pro quality :p Luckily I purchased plenty of tint!
