Hey Hitman, I like your tint. Is that 20%? I want to tint not to dark and not to light to make myself wonder why I bothered tinting in the first place. What are the rest of you tint users at % wise. Send pics. I've only seen Jason B's in an earlier post. Pretty hot but it's at 50%.

I had Formula One all metal,no dye tint installed on the 96q last July, not too dark, but cuts 99% of interior destroying ultrs violet rays, and rejects 42% of heat gain through the glass. It has made a huge difference in the heat that you feel coming through the glass and the air conditioner fan runs at a slower speed due to the lack of heat buildup! Highly recommend this film, and the thought of the interior being protected from the sun gives me peace of mind!

sorry, forgot to mention it is 50% tint, which with the factory tinting already in place,is the darkest you can LEGALLY go in Maryland.

Actually, mine is all an illusion. The film on my Q is the old bronze stuff which has held up well despite being almost 8 years old.

I like the new generation stuff being used locally - It's expensive, at $450 (sedan) but has a lifetime warranty and rejects 80% of heat transmission through the glass. It's got a German name - Call around and ask the top-end shops or high-end dealers what they recommend.

My friend has 5% or even less, you cannot even see though the back windows! And just some (just because of the sun) in the front. Its crazy, he got it for 100 bux in his 240.

That is too dark! 5%. 50% is legal in Maryland? I'm surprised. I would go 50% with the metallic tint. Alot of states are at 35%. You fooled me Hitman. Qship any pics?

the percentage tint number is actually the amount of light that is transmitted through the glass,so 50%tint is lighter than 35% and so on.

yea I know Fl is at 35% but I have 20% all around and never get questioned over it. If you're looking for something not too dark or light, I would go with 35% mirror all around. Since it has more reflective properties than black it looks darker but with 35% you can still see out of it clearly.

huperoptik is illegal, at least in missouri and illinois. you are allowed to have windows as dark as you want in back, but the front windows and windshield must allow for easy viewing of the driver, even at night. (whatever that means)

if you have an eye condition though, you can get approval for darker tinting up front as well.

police are taking a gamble that those fogies with glaucoma wont shoot unsuspecting cops down through their tinted windows...

Thanks LAQ for the numbers. All the input has been great. For some reason Q's look great tinted as compared with some other cars.

Why huperoptik is illegal if I stay in the state laws specs?

I have Limo (that's 5% for those who didn't read) and it's fuqing gayyyyyyyyyy. Cant see **** out the back or the side windows. Driving at night = windows down and praying with backing out I dont hit a small child. It's comming off sooner or later, atleast on the back. Why did the douchepouch that sold me it have to have hypersensitive eyes?

I think I have 20%, i bought the car with the tint. I know it's not 35% because that's what my sister has, and mine is much darker. But, you know, i just found out that in New York, 70% is now the legal limit!
