Tint and Badging Photos

Just thought I'd share some photos of my V.

I had the tinting done professionally for $160, ordered the "1.8 SL" badging from http://www.diyemblem.com/index.php for $17 (which included shipping), and then had a friend do the vinyl silver pinstripe for $15.

I am working on some interior LED lighting right now.

I particularily like the pinstripe. Subtle, but effective, adds a bit more definition to the side of the car.

Very well done. Good pinstriping job and I like the added "1.8 SL" badge on the rear.

Unfortunately up here in Illinois, we are not suppose to tint the driver and front passenger side windows - so I'll likely bypass this cool looking customization to stay legit.

Check with your DMV folks about your legal limits for tinting. I don't think it is illegal, just moderated with rules.

Here in Florida it is a very popular addition to vehicles. However, our legal limit is 33%, meaning that the tinting must pass at least 33% of a test light's light. I have opted to install a 25% layer, so I am not quite on the up & up. Actually the rear window and two side rear windows can be any tint you want. Just the two side front windows must be lighter, and you cannot tint the windshield. I wanted it all even, so had everything done except the windshield.

Tinting has several practicle functions aside from looking great; UV protection, and a huge help with keeping the interior cooler. I can't believe how much cooler my V's interior is now. My installer claimed that his product provides 100% UV protection, so that is a big plus too!

seriously! I am definately Illegal! not a good thing since I work for a law enforcement agency. (oops) but I can't help it. the 20% is the same price as the 37% and even the 70% so, and it looks so much better. go for the darker, why the heck not? but you didn't hear that from me.
