my turbo should be going in next weekend. I'm not sure if I have to retard my timming. Does anyone know if I have to ? If so, how far for 4psi of boost? What exactly would retarding the timming do? Does it help stop detination?

why's everyone put 2 m's in "timing"

anyways.. 4psi is pretty low. you'll be cool with stock timing.. regardless, id pull it back 2 degrees just for safetys sake. also, get spark plugs one heat range colder than stock. run for a week, and inspect the plugs.. if they're really black, push timing up one degree. run a week, check plugs. if still black as hell, put timing back to stock (doubt they'll foul tho.. its good to check)

btw, what turbo and wastegate are you using? im having trouble finding anything under 6psi.

FYI - TiAL offers as low as a .3bar (4.35psi) on the 35mm wastegate. I have that spring and an MBC running 8psi - It's great.

At under 8 psi I wouldn't worry about retatrding your timing as long as you have the fuel sorted out.
