Ok, Basic story here:

1) replaced stock pulley w/ UR pulley2) don't think timing marks were set correctly because it's very hard to find them

I'm guessing the pullies can go on any which way when installing, or do they have to go on a way in which the timing marks are correctly set up?

If the former, how should I be doing this so that I can set my timing again?

I'm guessing again:1) set cylinder 1 to tdc - do this by removing spark plug and rotating crank clockwise until the piston is as high as it goes (which is how high when eyeballing it?)2) take off pulley3) put pulley back on w/ the 0 lined up to the timing mark on the engine

Will the tdc be thrown off while removing the crank pulley bolt?

I'm sorry for the lame-o questions, but these things weren't ever mentioned really on any of the underdrive pulley install threads - everyone just wrote "pull off old pulley, put on new pulley".

****** O, and what page/section in the FSM is the setting timing on? I can't find it - was too frustrated.

Ok, I think that makes me feel better, haha.

So if my pulley has timing marks, it MUST be the right position yes? Time to start cleaning up that pulley.

I'm hoping my hour of frustration was mostly because we couldn't find the idle adjust screw.

if it's from UR, then you can be pretty assured the marks are accurate
