Im doing the timing in my sr, i pulled the front cover off along with everything else that needs to be pulled off. The head is still on the car, i was wondering if I should just go ahead and pull the head off also so it would be easy to put the front cover back on. Has anyone put everything back together with the head still on the car.

I suggest removing the oil pump drive spacer off the nose of the crank. It makes installation easier of the front cover. Then you can put the spacer back in afterwards.

If you can't get it off the crank, then do what was suggested. Slide the top on first and then swing the lower end on. It's a bit tighter, but it's doable.

I also suggest getting the two top bolts started before you install the front bolts. You'll never get them started if you tighten all the front cover bolts first.
