timing

i have a sohc with straight through exhaust, egr is completely gone, air box has been replaced by a k&n and adapter, secondary butterflies have been taken out, e-fan. and i run 93 oct.. what should my timing be? how do i check it and how do i adjust it? i've asked like 10 times and no one gives me a straight answer. i need to know what the regular timing is. also if i should set it differently to run a little better. towards the beginning of next year im going to install my turbo kit. its a smallish t3(running 8-10lbs.). and im going to run a safc II and a wideband. what should i set my timing to then. i'd rather have reliability then max power. thanks in advance.
