Hey whats up, I'm new here and I wanted to ask a few things before I button-down my new head to the ka24de.

There are 2 upper cam sprockets, and one bolted to the head. Now, As long as I never broke into the lower timing cover, is there a chance that I could have slipped a tooth or two down below? I havent bolted everything down yet and there is NO REASON to assume I slipped a tooth, but is there a way I can tell if the colored link is still matched up down below? Is there any certian # of turns I can make on the crank to put that link directly in the middle up top to be sure I am all lined up? I mean, the only way to check if I'm lined up is to set to TDC and check and see if the colored link is lined up with the dot on the lowest gear. But i REALLY REALLY don't want to take that **** apart.

EVEN if it slipped a tooth or two, as long as I set the piston #1 to TDC, and the cams to TDC, will my timing be off? will that throw off the distributor adjustment at all? idk where else to ask.

Well, you are asking about the ka24de. As long as the crank did not rotate while you had the upper cam sprockets out, you should be fine. Worst-case scenario if you HAVE to retime the motor from scratch is pretty much this, or at least what I did:

Rotate crank to achieve TDC (doesn't matter what stroke really), then go ahead and re-assemble the head, get a diagram from the Jim Wolf Technology site to see exactly how the cams are positioned, install valve cover.

Simple part, try and start the motor, if it doesn't fire up, reverse your spark plug wire order.
