I was wondering what the maximum advance is and at what rpm. Does cold air across the intake temp sensor increase the timing advance? Also, what happens at full throttle when you let off, does the timing become more advanced?

The main reason I was concerned was that I was told that the 1.6 Miatas did greatly run more advance once you let off the throttle. This one racing team cranked up the boost on my buddies car, however at the end of the run, they just turned off the ignition before letting off the gas.

Timing is usually advanced during lighter loads. For a given RPM, the timing will be retarded more at WOT than at closed throttle.

No.

Timing maps are based on load values determined by throttle postion and airflow vs RPM.
