93 DOHC KA, all stock except for the "dual exhaust cam" swap.

Timing is supposed to be 20 BTDC according to underhood placard. Where are you guys running yours? I'd like to advance it somewhat, but I'm not sure where to set it.

I don't necessarily want to run inot knocking problems, but I can't help but think it's a little hampered by the factory setting.

I've had good gains with running ~22 BTDC.

The ECU will feed at least 8 degrees advance at times..and more than 30 degrees total timing under load is probably too much.

Make sure you set the base timing with the engine warm, TPS unplugged, idle at ~700-750.
