I'm curious how man rotations of the cam does it take to line the timing chain with the punch mark on the cam again?

I got the crank a tdc and the cam at tdc but when i rotate it doesn't line up again so I wanna know how many turns cause after a few it lined up again.thanks

I think you maybe correct I counted it and it took four complete turns.I put the crank at TDC which is piston #1 all the way up correct? On the cam the punch mark isn't at 5 o'clock but the pully timing mark lines up when its at TDC so should I just do it like that?

TDC is the Piston #1 all the way up so thats correct. I'm assuming this is a SOHC motor right?

Yes it's SOHC and I guess the sprocket is upside down or something.I didn't put it on but I just put it at TDC and lined up the pulley so it should be fine right?

where should your punch mark be according to your repair book or what not? I'm not too well versed with SOHC engines but it should be easier than a DOHC
