timing problems...i think

Hello everyone, i'm new to Nico, i've cruised around the forums regularly though. I've been having minor problems with my 92 240 ka24de stuttering at low rpm's in the last couple of days. I also have just completed removing my timing chain guides and serviced the tensioners. After I finished I started the car up and it idled and ran just dandy under no load and was making noticeable less noise, needless to say I felt pretty good about myself. I proceeded to take it for a little test drive and the minor low rpm problems turned into a major problem (was on the verge of bogging down and dying the whole time. I pulled it back into the garage, and now it won't run. It starts...hardly (only with the TPS unplugged), and runs for a couple of seconds and then stalls; stalls right away upon throttle application. I was very diligent when removing the timing chain guides about returning everything to how it was when I started. Wondering if anyone has any input on what step I should take next. Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you

try disconnecting the battery for about 15min. to reset ur ecu, maybe that'll help. the only thing i know of that causes a rough idle or to not start at all would be vacuum, timing, or the mas air sensor. maybe that helps

thanks for the advice, reset the ECU and ran it for codes (came out good) i've checked more or less all the hoses/ wires of the suspect areas for leaks/connection issues and such and everything looks good to me (although I should mention that i'm used to a more mechanically simple engine so lots of of these systems EGR,TPS etc. are new to me) I'm going to clean the MAF and clean/replace the CTS The car only starts when the TPS is unplugged so i'm ruling this out as a cause because the system is bypassed (correct me if i'm wrong). I'm also not considering the EGR to be the issue, maybe because of lack of knowledge, but it doesn't seem to be the problem. I still think that my main problem is with the timing somewhere, I've fiddled around with the distributor in every possible position but am unsure of how to time the engine when I can't start it, can this be done? it starts, shakes horribly for a couple of seconds then runs up to 1000 rpm or so and dies . For now I have everything back to it's original position (timing wise) because this just makes sense to me, why should it run fine before and then not again. Another thought that has come up upon searching the forums is a fuel/injector issue, fuel is getting there, maybe just not enough, would it be worth it to buy a gauge to test fuel pressure? or would a dying fuel pump/injector exhibit these types of symptoms. I'm going to replace the fuel filter regardless i think. Also thinking of cleaning the throttle body, would this be useful, seems to me it would maybe help out the running a little bit, but not stop it from running completely. thank you to whoever is reading, and who wouldn't mind passing on a little wisdom if any of my thinking is wrong or if you have any suggestions
