Timing Problem?

Hey everyone i searched but couldn't really find an answer, i re timed my 240 about a month ago but when i did i forgot to remove the tps connection. So just a few days ago i tried to again this time i unplugged the sensor but i couldn't find the marks and what not so i just left it as is, i never actually loosened the distributer. Ever since then its been running a little funny. Is it possible that when i retimed it without the sensor the ecu was set on some kind of setting for like running rich or something like that?
