Car: chess, fixing things that dont work

Post

I just bought a '93 Infinity J30 with 119k on it. While tuning it up last night (plugs, oil, filters, belts, timing belt, etc), I broke the crankshaft pulley with a gear puller. It broke on both sides while pulling off. I did the timing belt and put everytjing back together, but now the car runs like crap and I know my timing marks were on point. The car sounds really rough with alot of hesitation. When in nuetral or drive It wont respond to me stepping on the gas. In drive it might go about 3-5 mph. Could the broken crankshaft pulley be the culprit messing with the crank position sensor?

Thanks in advance for any and all answers...

i really doubt it, though I'm so familiar with the J30 engine.

Do you have a timing light?

I would put money (not much though) that you got one of cam timing points off. That's five points to align. The J30 is a DOHC? with a heart shaped belt?

I'd start by checking all the plugs then use a timing light (that will check just CAS cam, but gives you something.)
