My car was running alright except for the idle when ever I started the car every morining the rpm would go up to 2500 then drop to about 500 making the car shake and stuff. When it warmed up it kept going from 1500 to around 2000. Today I decided to time it, but in doing so I think I did more bad then good. I hooked up the timming light to the first spart plug wire closest to the front of the car and checked the timing. It was way off to the right of all the lines. so I reved it to 3000 three times turned off the engine disconected the tps and then turned it back on. The idle went up to 2500 and stayed ther I tried adjusting the screw to lower the rpm but it did not seem to have any effect on the idle. So I went ahead and adjusted the timing to the second mark which I think is 15 degrees. After that I turned the car off and plugged in the tps. When I started it back up the rpm went up to 2500 and them drops to like 700-500 the engine shakes alot like it's going to stall them I hear some clicking sound and something that sounds like blowby. So I put it back to the same spot it was at before. now the rpm stays at 2500 everytime it is idling. Did I do something wrong, or is there anything I missed. Also how would I adjust the idle. Please help!!!

not to familier with the sr20det . but it sounds like you either have a possible air leak or an injector problem. primarily because the idle is not effected by the adjustment screw. check your pcv hoses and your air intake tube.
