TIMING PROBLEM help!

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

ok so i did a timing chain job and now, everythings set how it sposed to im like almost 100percent sure its exactly how the jimwolf site says and how it was b4 i changed it, at 20btdc my car idles fine but is really boggy and runs like crap, i have it advanced all the way at the distributor now and it runs fine, just lacks power up top and sounds like its sucking way more intake the the exhaust is pushing, anyone know if i might be like a tooth off or somthing or know anything that could help me?

are you double checking everything with a timing light?

yea had it set at 20dbtdc it idles fine but boggs out when i give it gas, i advanced it all the way at the distributor and now it dont bogg, but got like no power

Did You get any response?? i´m having the exact same problemI have like a month without having the s14 running normally I replaced the timing chain set and i followed everything on the manual but for some reason Im not able to set the time correctly

Double check your cam timing. In fact, triple check it. that what it sounds like, one or both cams are off by a few teeth.

Check your distributor might be a tooth off.

Same problem we had. be sure you are setting the timing per the FSM. We had the dizy off by one tooth and it would run but not right. We then went to set timing by disconnecting the TPS (Per FSM) and found that we could not move the dist. far enough to set the timing correctly. Moved the dist. one tooth and everything was fine.

Dist. should be near mid range when timing is set, not all the way one direction or the other.
