I got my sr with an aftermarket pulley and it has no marks on it. I turned the motor to TDC and made a mark with sharpie aligned with the needle. But where should i be setting the timing at?

assuming you got it dead on, you want to line it up 2.1 cm to the right of that line you could take off the valve cover and look at the chain to make shure you got your mark perfect.
