So I have turned the motor over and over for a very long time and the best I get is 1 tooth off. Everything else lines up. Cams at 10 and 12. But the ex side is 1 tooth off. Any advice on an easy solution for this problem?

We thaught it was dead on but when I was setting the timing to 15 btdc, the CAS wouldn't turn any more so we re stabbed it to compensate but now my battery is dead and on the charger right now.

Any advice here guys? I know how to set the light and all that I'm just stuck with the 1 tooth off....

Set up timing to the alignment marks and ensure the #1 piston is at tdc. Then the easy solution is to get the ext cam off and align the cam properly and put the sprocket and chain back on. I had the same issue. Ensure you have 11 links between the intake/exhaust sprockets.

11 links? I'm pretty sure mine was 9 links between the 2 dots on the cam gears

nvm its 11 from dot to dot I wasn't counting the links on the dots just between them

So what made my timing be off 1 tooth? What happened to my motor for this to happen?

We restabbed the CAS to compensate and it wouldn't even start.

chain tensioner slack or the chain is stretched. Mine did it and i spun the motor by and and literally watched the old chain skip a tooth. Replaced with a new chain kit and tensioner. Take off your valve cover and look at the chain slack.

It sure didn't have much slack in the chain. So removing the cam and moving the gear so it lines up wont hurt anything else? Thats the best and safest sollution? Thanx guys!

If you check out the frsport web site it says that you should have 10 links from the intake punck mark to the exhaust punch mark on the sprockets. Who is correct ?

post up link! i read though our forum here about them being 11links if it's 10 i find it strange cause i had mine setup with 10 and it wouldn't stay running for crap. 11 links it would run and rev up nicely

Please Help, My timing keeps jumping all around when I set it with the light. I keep going through the FSM proceedure and it keeps jumping. For those who had the same problem, what did you do to get it to lock in?
