I am just blown away by the new FX. Driven it twice and I am ready to pull the trigger. Gameplan is to turn my BMW 740iS over to the wife and get a black/black FX45. Question is, when will the MY2004's come out? Reasons I would like to wait:

- Residuals will be higher vs. MY2003 (cheaper lease) - Revised suspension geometry to improve ride characteristics - Various amenity improvements (see below) - Possible surprises in addition to those already known???

The ventilated seats would be great (especially with a black interior) and the voice-activated NAV would be a big plus, too.

Any info regarding MY2004 would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

From infinitihelp.com :

Enhancements to the 2004 FX45/FX35 include: ·Refinements added to the suspension for improved ride comfort ·New 8-way power passenger seat (replaces previous 4-way design), new inside door handle lamp ·Available aluminum roof rails and 20-inch chrome-plated wheels ·New dark silver metallic finish added to 20-inch wheels (for non-chrome wheels) ·Snow-Mode function added (shifts throttle input algorithm in low-speed slippery road conditions once activated by driver for enhanced traction) ·Standard HVAC air filter on all models ·Engine will meet LEV2 standard for emission control (beginning with October production – FX35 only) ·New optional equipment package content availability

I think corporate info you posted is pretty accurate,

and there certainly will be some improvements, BUT a 03 is liely to be avilabe for much less at the end of the model year.

Even lease might be subsidized a bit..

Lease questions between model years a good point of contact is our "showroom forum" staffed by an actual automotive financing manager and a former salesman.

Fred..:)

Thank you for the reply, you may be correct that I could "have my cake and eat it too" with a MY2003 vehicle. All comes down to local supply/demand....

What does the "MY" in "MY2004" represent?

MY = Model Year

'MY' gets used because the carmakers can sell 2004's as early as January 1, 2003. For instance, the 2004 Ford F-150 just came out, even though it is only August 2003.

I have heard that the 2004 FX35/45 will be produced in September/October and start showing up in dealerships in October/November.

The first MY2004's will arrive at dealers the 2nd week of October (depending on the dealer). They are expected to hit port in the states any day.
