Im having trouble setting the timing with the CA20E engine i have with the vacuum advance. There seems to be 6 timing marks that I highlighted with whiteout.

================|| ================\/

||____||_____||____||____||____||

thats the current timing position with the car idling at 750 rpm and the vacuum advance both plugged or unplugged either works.

As the car RPM goes higher and the bottom pulley spinning clockwise, the timing mark moves to the right.

============================|| ============================\/

||____||_____||____||____||____||

The car says it should be at 4*BTDC but i dont know which one is correct. Lemme know where the mark should be so I can get this done correct. Thanks.

Well the CA18DE's marks starting from the left are; -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20. I would see no reason why the 20's pulley would be different.

Hold on, according to the top diagram he's 11 degrees before TDC, right? The more clockwise the point at which the spark fires, the more advanced the spark timing, right? I would think 4 degrees BTDC would look more like this:

=========||=========\/

||____||_____||____||____||____||

5ATDC 0 ........5BTDC...........15.......20
