TIMING MARKS OFF BY 180 DEG?

I hooked up the timing light on my buddies sr and when i looked they where on the bottom of the pulley. It makes it look like its a 180 deg. of timing. Has anyone ever had this problem before. NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!
