ok, I found in a search per FSM to do this:

Start Engine run 2min at 2KRun Diag TestStart Engine Race 3 x over 3kStop Engine and disconect TPSStart Engine Race 3x and then idle

I cannot get the timing to not jump all around. I have tried that in a combo of different ways as well. I am using a spark plug wire as well between the plug and coil.

HELP!!!

Meh, I don't bother with the racing of the engine. I usually pull the TPS, let the car warm up at idle, then check timing.

If you're having a jumpy light, I would look at the method of how you're picking up your signal. I've never had luck using the inductive loop on the back of the coil pack harness, so I made a pickup using an old coil pack and a plug wire. I have a write up on that in the annals of the site.

I did make a wire like you did in your write-up. But still a jumpy light....Would that possibly mean that the internal timing is still off? I tried multiple ways of getting it to lock in but no luck.

BTW- Hijacker

I test drove for the first time today even though the timing light wasn't on spot. It was very sluggish till about 4k and then it hit full boost.

Would this be just because of the timing light or do I have more problems that I dont realize?

Drive the car to get it fully warmed up, run a plug wire between the plug and coilpack or i think you can hook the light up to the group of wires going to the #1 coilpack. Disconnect the TPS and set your idle to 800rpm using the IACV. Then your ready to read your timing. Once your idle is set, the timing should read pretty close to the same with the TPS connected or disconnected. This method has worked on my 500hp SR, Rb25, and KA. The biggest thing is getting the car fully warmed up first. The car doesnt get fully warmed up unless driven.
