Fired up the rb25 with AEM series 1 ems today. Went to set the ignition timing and the light isn't working? It was working a little at the beginning of start up and then it just stopped all together. I thought the timing light might have been broken so I tried it on the Suburban and it works fine.

Any ideas??

Setup:

-RB25det
-LSX truck coil packs
-8mm universal plug wires
-AEM series 1 30-1621U with built in uego
-Stock turbo and aftermarket intake plenum
-AIT GM sensor as well as MAP

This should be the most basic setup to put a timing light on. I assume the coil pack is actually firing? You're simply putting the inductive pickup on the spark plug wire?

yeah it was weird. Had all my sensors set up right. Checked my CAS sensor wizard and nothing was checked. Set all the parameters up like you had on your cas disk install link and it started to work? Not sure what the deal was really but I'ts good now.

Just having a throttle response issue with AEM at the moment. Idle is fine and all my changes work when cruising but if I stab the gas pedal really quick the rpm almost bogs for half a second then revs??

You have any input about that Booztd?

Likely a "tip-in" throttle issue. Additional fuel is needed for that extra rush of air that comes in when you stab the throttle. That is calculated in AEM's "accell pump" (there should be an advanced tab too)

Accell pump can get pretty complicated and confusing, but there's a calculation based upon your starting TPS and your end TPS (thats called a delta) For example if you're cruising at 20% TPS and you stab to 100% - that determines how much extra fuel you need for that temporary condition. I think theres also an "accell fuel" status you can log which will give you an idea of how much extra fuel is being added.

If you have a wideband on the car and its fed to the AEM you can internal log at a much higher sample rate and my assumption is you'll see a pretty nasty lean spike when you stab the gas. Notice if you roll into the throttle you don't get the hesitation.

Yeah I read about adjusting that, the Accel vs. dTPS , Accel vs. Throttle, accel enrichment, and accel fuel pump. I was playing around with those settings, bringing most of them up from 0 to like 100 to see if it made any changes. It seemed like it was making a minor difference. I set everything back to its original settings and the thing cut off on me. I'm having a hard time getting it started back up. This thing is so aggravating. I had it starting every time, idling perfect and able to pate it around town to break this motor in so I can get my car inspected. Now I have like 5 days left and can't get it started. I may have to drop it off with the local tuner.

I forget......do I set the CAM sensor to late model Honda or can I set it to Nissan,skyline,maxima,300zx settings?
