Timing light how to?

i tried and tried running a timing light on my red top but i cant find anyway to do it because its direct coils does anyone know how to run a timing light on them and sorry i accidentally clicked the wrong thing its not a poll

There is a wire loop at the back of the head where the coil harness comes out. That loop is there to check timing. I tried timing mine the other ways and it just wont work. Use the timing loop.
