I am going to be changing my timing belt soon thanks to the awesome write up by 95-J30tt, But i was wondering, What other things should i replace while i am replacing the belts? I need a knock sensor replaced so i am wondering if thats something that i can do at the same time. and where is the best place for these parts?

I believe the knock sensor requires the removal of the intake plenum, that's a lot more work than just the timing belt. Is your KS bad? If you're replacing the timing belt, I'd replace the water pump, the timing belt tensioner, the thermostat, radiator hoses, and drive belts. There may be more, anyone else want to chime in?

yeah my car is going through fuel like its going out of style , and theres that nasty hesitation when driving, especially when starting from a stop. So i took her to autozone and they pulled up codes for the knock sensor and the revolution sensor. Thanks for the info fellas, more thoughts are welcomed. Thanks Yodawill2000

do you mean the crank angle sensor?, if so, then this sensor is a normal problem with the J, get a used one from a junk yard off of a 300zx NA or a J (as long as it is the VG30DE engine), make sure it has low milage, and check the plug before you buy it, i have one here, it has about 130 000 miles on it...... hope this helps

hey, 95J30tt i checked my mail and there was nothing there. they didnt pull a crank sensor code not to say its not something to check into though, the knock and the rev sensor was the only codes that came up. I did unplug the revolution sensor which is located on the transmission. but i only unpluged it from the sub harnesss.
