Ok here is the deal, right now I have a 1993 Hatchback, I was looking around for a while now and I stumbled onto a 1991 Vert.

On my end I would trade my car for his plus 500 in cash. My 240 is bone stock so it works out.

The only thing is that the timing is screwed. He doesn't know how to fix it so thats why he is getting rid of it.

I did some searching for about 2 days and can't find what im looking for to fix the engine. To also top it off im not that mechanically inclined, so its a double whammy.

Am I missing a website or something? If someone from Nico could direct my to a site that would be awesome.

I have always been a Vert fan and always wanted one, right after getting the timing fixed I would do a 5spd swap. But any help would be awesome THANKS NICO

***EDIT: This should have gone into technical that I think about it mybad*

Hi,

I had timing chain issues with my 95' Zenki over a month ago. I did a lot of research online about how to resolve the problem.

My car wouldn't idle smooth and I could hear a rattle sound that was coming from the top/front of the valve cover of my KA24DE. It was one of the timing chain tensioners that was either broken or loose in there. There is one guide that doesn't even need to be in there.

What ended up happening was I knew that I wouldn't have time to do the repairs myself so I took it to my mechanic and had them replace the timing chain with a new one. While they had the front of the engine broke down, I also had them replace the water pump even though it didn't need replacing. I also had them replace the oil pan gasket and they had to replace the gasket on the valve cover.

I did google searches for replacing timing chains and found all kinds of resources. Just type in something like, "replacing timing chain 240sx" or something similiar.

Timing chains should cost you around $250.00 for a new one.

Oh, the mechanic did a great job, but it cost me almost $2k!!!! Most of that cost was the 18 hour labor charge.

Thanks, guys but I told the man I'm not going to bother with it, he said it was up on craigslist. If anyone wants the vert, its 700 bucks with 96,000 miles on it. I just rather drift with my hatch then a convert. but if people want the link ill send it to them its perfect.
