Good deal! Glad my 2 cents helped. Having just gone through this, and in the process finding help here at NICO... I echo your sentiments-- "good guys found here."

Good luck with the guides.

WOW! Jerry Tucker in Southern CA might be a recommended shop (based on this website), but it is sure damn pricey. I just got a quote of $1480 for the guide job...compare to only $800 for the Euro shop in AZ. When I offer to buy my own parts from Scottsdale, they said the "price for labor is firm since parts cost only $20 or so"??? What? Get serious? This makes my skepital about their ability to do my guide chain when the extensive list from other previous post(s) totaled to $400 or more. Makes me raise another question: Are they replacing everything they SHOULD or are they just replacing the minimum to get by?

My next question: Will it justify a drive out to AZ to get the chain replaced for $800 and enjoy the view at the same time?

No, that's not right at all. For $20 you can get the cheapest guide listed (just 1) and an oil seal. Ask them another way if you're so inclined..."How many billable hours is the job and what is your shop rate?" The $1480 is pretty fair for the complete job with parts though, *especially* if it includes dropping the oil pan. The rent can't be too cheap down there.

DesertQ,

I have taken my 94 to euro imports quite a bit, but never knew who worked on it..

I want to use one tech, the best at euro imports.. I have heard Scotts named tossed around a few times, do you think he is the most qualified Q tech at Euro Imports?
