timing gear

sorry i have looked and searched and found nothing i need to get the timing gear on the crank shaft off so i can replace the fron main seal and i cant seem to figure it out and i deas or a link to some were i can find it if you can point me in the right direction and then delete this that would be cool thanx

they have a bad habit of seizing on the crank. You could try heating the gear with a torch and then quenching it a few times to loosen it. I just split them off with a chisel and get a new one but I tend to have a bad attitude like that. Smear a lil grease on it where it meets the crank when you put it or its replacement on so it doesn't do it again.

I ended up drilling two holes and tapping them, then used a puller to get it off. When I fitted the new one I gave it a coat of Neva-seize.
