Timing covers

I have noticed in some of the pics of the 300zx's that is gaze @ some have the timing belt cover removed. I like the look but was wondering if this is truly ok & the pros & cons?

Con: Your timing belt will be open and if anything at all gets in there can severly damage it. Don't want that to happen because if you lose the belt you have the chance of pistons smashing valves.

Pro: If you go out and by chromed valve pulleys you can show them off.

..plus it's a little hard on body parts if you are working around there with it running

your the one that asked, maybe try searchiing next time and my honest opinion is that your askin for trouble runnin no timing belt covers on a car thats street drivin

wow wheres a mod when ya need one? they gave you good answers dude what more do you want. IMO its for show that kids do that. as stated it is dangerous to the engine to run it like that, and the cons easily outweigh the pro. if you call it a pro. so stop being an *** before you get the
