i got my timing cover off 240 sx ka24e 90 model

how do i replace crank seal in cover. any tips

is it lubed with anything before installing cover? pet jelly, oil?

what about the two engine oil seals in block. they look like metal rings. what is the purpose of these and do they need replacing?

also do you use any lithium grease on pully shaft or anywhere else befor assembly?

thanks

the 2 orings are your main oil gallie seals. yes you need to replace them. pop the crank seal out with a large screw driver. place it under the lip and roll it keep doing this all the way around till it pops out completely. becarful not to scar the matining surface on the side of the seal hole. i use a very thin coat of rtv on the outside of the seal. the inside should already be lubricated with grease.

the orings should have a small rubber ring on it. the tab is to hold it in place
