I have a 1996 Q45. While I was changing the valve cover gasket on the right side, I noticed more play in the timing chain "tc" then I would have expected. I am not sure what is an acceptable amount of deflection in the tc between the camshaft cog wheels. In the attached picture you can see the tc with 1/3 of an inch between the chain and the guide. Is this normal or acceptable for a Q45 with 150K miles. I removed the valve cover and top timing chain cover and visually inspected the guides. I did not notice any significant wear and the tensioner seems to be working. The tc appears tight on the left side.
