Timing chain & tensioner

For the 2.5L engine is it normal to be able to compress the tensioner by hand using your fingers? I'm used to Audi & VW and those tensioners actually require quite a bit of force to compress.

As for the timing, what's the best way to go about setting it in time? Start at the crank, go around the intake cam, then the exhaust cam and release the tensioner?

Yeah I guessed so,I was able to do it as well my altima has 200k though and no timing problems yet.LOL
